We don't just build tools; we create the future of literacy alongside the people who use them.

STREEN STUDIO

Collaboratively interpret stories by transforming texts into reader’s theatre performances, illustrations, and interactive sound and media effects that reflect and extend a shared understanding of the story.

STREEN-Studio is a web application that supports collaborative and creative reading experiences. Children work together to enrich stories with illustrations, sound effects, soundscapes, and other environmental media effects that are synchronised with the text and perceived directly in the room during reading or performance activities.
The platform is especially used to support collaborative reading activities such as Readers’ Theatre, audiobook creation, and story performances. Children do not simply read texts individually; instead, they collaboratively interpret stories, discuss meanings, create media elements, and prepare shared reading experiences for an audience or peer group.

Importantly, the activity is not primarily technology-centered, but socially and goal-oriented. The technology supports meaningful collective activities with a clear purpose — such as performing an augmented Readers’ Theatre session or collaboratively producing an enriched audiobook experience.

In addition to environmental storytelling, STREEN-Studio also includes features that support reading comprehension and vocabulary development by encouraging children to infer meaning from context, reflect on the text, and actively engage with language.

STREEN STORYMAKER

Transform playful interactions with toys into creative stories and reading adventures.

STREEN-StoryMaker is a storytelling and reading tool that allows children to create stories by naturally playing with physical toys and objects. Using computer vision and speech recognition, the system interprets children’s actions, dialogue, and storytelling, and transforms them into written narratives, questions, and interactive reading experiences. STREEN-StoryMaker combines play, storytelling, reading, and creativity into a collaborative and embodied literacy activity.

STREEN QUEST

Explore your surroundings through treasure hunts where reading happens through creating and playing with clues and stories.

STREEN-Quest is a web application that allows children and teachers to collaboratively create and experience location-based treasure hunts that combine reading, storytelling, movement, and exploration. Using familiar environments such as schoolyards or playgrounds, users can define real-world locations and connect them to narrative clues, riddles, and story events. STREEN-Quest supports the creation process through assisted authoring of stories, hints, riddles, and narrative paths, helping transform physical spaces into interactive reading adventures. Children can then play and explore these treasure hunts together through movement, problem-solving, and contextual reading activities.
